Italy

18th - 24th September 2027

About the Retreat

Join Jed Fox for a nourishing week of yoga, meditation, pranayama, ceremony and heart-centred practice at the beautiful boutique retreat centre of YogApulia in southern Italy. Beginning under the waning Harvest Moon, this retreat offers space to deepen your practice, explore the wisdom of your unique design and reconnect with your true nature.

YogApulia Retreat Centre

Location:

Puglia - Italy

Puglia exemplifies all that is seductive about southern Italy. Unique whitewashed towns, turquoise seas, ancient olive groves and a landscape steeped in history and authentic Italian charm.

Our boutique retreat centre yogApulia is set in the Valle d’Itria, a beautiful corner of the region known for its ancient olive and almond trees, sweeping vineyards and distinctive trulli - the charming, hobbit-like houses with their conical stone roofs .

Built exclusively for yoga and meditation, our hosts Nicola and Mark have lovingly created an intimate space in tune with the rhythms of nature ,where guests can deepen their practice in this beautiful peaceful setting .

This is a treasure trove of authentic Italian life, where the pace is slower, the food is local and the landscape invites you to pause and savour the moment

Surrounded by the natural beauty of the Mediterranean, this is a place to step away from the demands of everyday life, reconnect with nature and enjoy the simple pleasures of practice and being together.

Jed Fox is a yoga teacher, educator, and group facilitator known for creating environments of depth, safety, and meaningful transformation. She holds a BA (Hons) in Creative and Performing Arts, over 550 hours of yoga certifications, a Diploma in Mindfulness, and additional qualifications in Shiatsu, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Swedish massage, and Clarity Breathwork.

Born in the UK and shaped by years of travel, Jed first encountered Ashtanga yoga in India in 1992—a practice that has remained a steady anchor throughout her life. Her daily sadhana integrates the Ashtanga primary series with elements of the intermediate series, complemented by dedicated days of Hatha Yoga, focused Pranayama, and occasional Yin.

In 2010, during her time living in PachaMama, Costa Rica, Jed was introduced to the Path of the Heart, the Red Road, and the Moon Dance, entering a profound field of shamanic practice that continues to inform her work. She further deepened her studies through the Medicine Wheel, Tibetan Buddhist shamanic traditions, and Sufi mystical teachings, enriching the spiritual and ceremonial dimensions of her offerings.

With a grounded and attentive presence, Jed integrates decades of multidisciplinary experience to support participants in exploring their practice with clarity, integrity, and meaningful depth.

The Yoga

The Yoga

We will spend our early mornings and sunset sessions exploring meditation, pranayama, asana, mantra, yoga philosophy, and the teachings of the Medicine Wheel. The practice is suitable for all levels, we come as we are, and we do what we can. If you are injured, exhausted, or truly need rest, please speak with me so I can support you.

Our yoga journey weaves classical Hatha teachings with the wisdom of Sufism, Buddhism, the Five Elements, and the Medicine Wheel, offering a grounded yet soulful approach.

Morning Practice

We begin with meditation and pranayama, followed by a short tea break, then move into our morning asana practice. Afterwards, the day is yours to rest, swim, or explore.

Evening Practice

Our sunset sessions include yin and restorative yoga, mantra, group work, journaling, and Yoga Nidra. I draw upon the Five Elements, Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Four Directions, and the Medicine Wheel throughout the week.

The theme of our time together — Amore Mio — unfolds like a ceremony, guided by the wisdom of the heart and the cultivation of its divine qualities. A journey through love, loss, healing, renewal and rebirth, embracing la dolce vita — the sweetness of life, the beauty of the senses, and the freedom to be intimate, authentic and fully alive. A love affair with life itself.

The Altar

The Altar

The altar of our lives is a quiet centrepoint for what we honour. Our shared altar reflects this, holding offerings and intentions that trace our collective . It becomes the energetic heart of our space, a place of alignment and remembrance, inviting each participant to connect with what is meaningful in their own journey. More information will be offered to those who book the retreat.

Food Philosophy

Organic, home grown and local food is at the heart of yogApulia. Fresh produce from neighbouring villages forms the basis of our plentiful, home-cooked meals, where traditional Italian flavours meet a light, contemporary touch. Retreat cuisine is plant based vegetarian, and we are invited to enjoy the sensual pleasures of savouring the delicious food that Italy is so famed for.

Beaches and things to do in the local area

Renting a car is very cheap at this time of year, depending on the groups requirements we may try to team together and rent a few cars between us, or you may just want to stay local and walk in the olive groves or relax around the pool, -to be discussed once our group has come together.

The long Mediterranean coastline of Puglia is home to some of the best beaches in Italy. Some of our favourite places to visit include;

  • Polignano a Mare is a beautiful old town on the coast with a popular beach set in a cove.

  • Monopoli is another lovely old historical town on the coast just south of Polignano.

  • MareTorre Canne is a local beach side resort with sandy beaches, cafes and restaurants Lido.

  • Ottagono is a beach club in Savelletri, set on the rocky coast with crystal clear water for swimming best beaches.

Local Markets

Visiting the local street markets is a great way to get a taste of traditional life in Puglia. There are weekly markets nearby in Cisternino, Ostuni and Martina Franca selling local produce, seasonal vegetables, fruit, cheese, clothing, plants and various other bits and pieces.

Country Walks

There are some lovely walks in the surrounding area amongst the olive and almond groves. Less than 15 minutes walk away is the small village of Casalini with a superb pizzeria, bakery & bar/cafe. A great place to get a feel for the local community going about their daily lives.

Old Historical Towns The main towns of the Itria Valley are Cisternino, Martina Franca, Alberobello (a UNESCO World Heritage site), Ostuni e Locorotondo.

These charming and beautiful old towns have remained virtually intact for centuries.

Cisternino is less than a ten minute drive from our centre and was recently voted one of the most beautiful small towns in Italy. Among the narrow winding streets are some amazing restaurants, chocolate shops and gelaterias (including vegan gelatos!)

The city of Lecce with it’s Baroque style buildings, cafés, bars and restaurants is a wonderful place to wander around.Visiting the local street markets is a great way to get a taste of traditional life in Puglia. LA dolce Vita awaits us in Italy …Ti Amo tutti …xxx Jediah
