"Our true nature is like a precious gem;

although it may be temporarily buried in mud,
it remains completely brilliant and unaffected.

We simply have to uncover it"

The Lagoon Retreat

A seven day rejuvenating retreat nestled high in the pristine forest of South West

Turkey over looking the Sulungur Lagoon, with views across the Dalyan delta and Isutuzu beach. This retreat is a moment in time to delve in to self, to explore the magic of the incredible location whilst opening our hearts and cleansing and refreshing our minds.

A retreat offers the space to restore, relax and take a pause, to deepen and refresh our practice and make new connections to yourself, to others and to nature, its a moment to breathe and settle back and recalibrate.

We will be blessed by the Hunters moon on the 28th October, an opportunity to harvest and gather all of the delights of the year to keep us nourished thru the darker days of winter. Its the last of the seasons sun and the moment before All Hallows, All Saints and All Souls, a time to honour the cycles of birth, life, death and rebirth, as this part of year marks the beginning of the death of nature and a time to remember our ancestors and all souls. We will connect to the rituals and the altar of our lives the medicines of nature and the five Great teachers, the elements, to honour life and all the beauty that is held there.

We will meet in Dalaman on Monday 23rd October and settle in after 2pm, Yoga will begin the following morning the 24th, we will depart on Monday 30th after a morning practice and breakfast Vacate our rooms by 10 am and check out is by 12.00 am.

The Venue

The Lagoon venue is a unique gem that sits on the edge of the world in complete seclusion overlooking the still waters of the lagoon. The split of land that separates the sweet waters of the Dalyan delta from the Mediterranean sea is a wonder of the world, a conservation area since 1987 and the breeding ground of loggerhead turtles, rare and specialist birds, dazzling butterflies and dragonflies, teeming with wildlife.

Situated on the edge of a traditional rural village, with bus connections for getting out and about should you wish to explore the riverside town of Dalyan, Istuzu beach with its turtle research and rescue centre or the ancient city of Caumos a 4th century BC port rediscovered in 1842, the city contains temples, an acropolis, roman baths and an amphitheatre as well as the Lycian rock tombs carved in the cliffs The area is known for its pine honey, citrus and pomegranate orchards.

It's relaxed and rustic and full of natural beauty, a peaceful getaway.

Ian is our host. He has a fantastic fund of local knowledge, which combined with his thirty years of experience creating and hosting yoga venues will guarantee our retreat runs smoothly and enjoyably. He is supported by Arslan, who discovered this extraordinary location twenty-five years ago developing the property in harmony with its spectacular natural setting.
